Fall Prevention

   
  • 1 in every 3 adults ages 65 or older falls each year. 
  • Risk for falling increases with each decade of life. 
  • Falls can lead to long-term consequences  and loss of independence in older adults.
  • American Geriatrics Society recommends vitamin D (1000 IU/daily) and calcium supplementation for prevention of falls in older adults.
